Your parish wishes to use theodia for the management of Mass schedules

Joining theodia is a non-binding decision. You can contact us even for one place of worship.

1. Insertion of the church / religious building

The first step is to place the churches on the theodia map. To do this, we need :

  • Name of the place
  • Type of place (oratory, chapel, church, cathedral, basilica)
  • Website related to the venue
  • Year of construction
  • Number of seats
  • Description of the place
  • Patron saint
  • Exact adress
  • pics

You may not have all this information. Only the address and the name of the place are obligatory.

2. Creating and linking calendars

We generally advise those who do not have an existing schedule to use the Google calendar system, which is free.

We then create a calendar by place and by language and by rite. For example, if you have celebrations in French and English in one church, you will need a calendar for the French and one for the English celebrations. It's the same thing for ritual differences. If you have celebrations in the extraordinary form of the Roman rite, Byzantine rite and in the ordinary form of the ordinary Roman rite, you will need three calendars. It is quickly put in place.

Then we link each calendar with theodia. From that moment, if you add events to one of your calendar, it will be synchronized with theodia within one hour.

3. User rights configuration and installation on other devices

It is possible to grant rights to certain individuals for specific calendars and from the devices recommended by the users.

For example:

  • We can grant full rights to a parish priest so that he can modify all schedules from any desired device (smartphone, tablet, desktop).
  • We can provide the necessary rights to an external priest who celebrates in the extraordinary form of the Roman rite so that he can modify only the celebrations in the extraordinary rite from his tablet, and only in the three churches concerned by these celebrations.
  • We can grant the necessary rights to the lady who comes to pray the rosary during the week in a particular church so that she can edit any modifications from her mobile phone.
  • We can give rights to an elderly priest so that upcoming celebrations are displayed directly in his calendar on his mobile phone, but without the ability to modify them.

And so on.

4. Generation of event iframes

Generation of iframes and installation on related websites, including:

  • Displaying schedules on the parish or religious community website.
  • Displaying schedules of buildings on potential sites linked to places of worship.
  • Displaying schedules on the diocese website. A diocese can concatenate the schedules of religious services. The diocese can display the summary of schedules for all locations covered by Theodia within its territory.

The same goes for a religious community. A restricted map of all locations within a religious community with their related schedules is also available upon request.

The display of event iframes is a service provided free of charge.

A Swiss Product

Theodia is a Swiss product imbued with the Swiss 'bottom-up' mentality. It allows central authorities to offload schedule management, providing greater flexibility at the grassroots level, reducing falsely announced events, increasing schedule coverage, improving information quality, and decreasing travel for worshippers due to better visibility of offered religious services.

With Theodia, you remain the sole owner of your data and can decide at any time to stop providing it to Theodia.
